 America’s original people, the American Indians, are also its poorest people and many of the poorest counties in our nation are located on Indian reservations. Christian Relief Services and its affiliate, Running Strong for American Indian Youth are working to change this through providing American Indian communities with food, water, basic relief, emergency assistance and support services for needy youth and their families including programs fostering self-reliance.

 Christian Relief Services and its project, Running Strong for American Indian Youth, provided monthly, holiday, and supplemental food to 15 American-Indian run and 5 non-Indian run, church and community food banks, food pantries, youth and elderly programs for a total of 2,060,056.88 pounds of food distributed for the year.
