STATEMENT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS - Christian Relief Services C
A. AMERICANS HELPING AMERICANS project provides financial, administrative and technical support to
programs assisting the needy in a number of states with emergency assistance, food new shoes, blankets, housing, home repair, youth projects and support of efforts promoting self-sufficiency. Over 12,000 individuals
assisted yearly.
B. RUNNING STRONG FOR AMERICAN INDIAN YOUTH project provides financial and technical support to programs assisting American Indian families in over 15 states, on and off
reservations, and has a long-standing commitment to provide nutritious food and clean water to Indian families. Assistance is provided to support water development, food pantries, youth programs, organic gardening
programs, home repair, donations of new coats, blankets and related items. With help from our national spokesperson Olympic Champion Billy Mills (Oglala Lakota), approximately 45,000 individuals assisted yearly.
C. INTERNATIONAL RELIEF & RESCUE/BREAD AND WATER FOR AFRICA
project provides grant funding, administrative and technical support to programs serving the needy in Africa. Material donations include medical supplies, medicines, food, building supplies, blankets, clothing, shoes, personal hygiene items and school supplies. Supports orphanages caring for over 1,000 children and the construction of primary schools and a hospital and medical clinics. Also, supports 14 hospitals in Lithuania with medical donations and the purchase of chemical re-agents. Approximately 133,000 individuals served yearly.
D. HOUSING PROGRAMS
provide administrative and technical support and ownership of two affordable housing projects that provide sixteen units for low and very low-income families located in Phoenix, Arizona. Received a Community Funding Pool Grant that allows CRSC to provide administrative and technical support to provide clients with two years of transitional housing, in forty-five houses. Also, provides administrative and technical support for coordinated support services through a 1991 HUD McKinney Grant for permanent housing for the homeless, chronically mentally ill adults at the following two locations: 1.
Woodbine Lane Group Home
– Annandale, VA: serves as a 5 unit facility for chronically mentally and physically disabled adults. 24-hour supervision and intensive support services provided by Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board. 2.
New Generations
– Vienna, VA Serves as a residential treatment program of 5 units for single mothers in recovery with one child each. This program is unique and highly recognized in the county for excellence in service. Support services provided by Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, Alcohol and Drug Services Unit.
