Since its conception in 1985, Christian Relief Services has recognized that Americans can do much to alleviate poverty and suffering in the Third World particularly in Africa. In support of our affiliate Bread and Water for Africa^®, we work with grassroots organizations in Kenya, Burundi, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe and Uganda. Our programs, like the solutions to Africa’s problems, are diverse: we help provide vocational training, education, clean water, orphan care, food self-sufficiency, health initiatives and women’s empowerment programs.
