Christian Relief Services worked with FEH some years ago to construct and establish the Hope Hospital which did not get damaged in the earthquake and is now inundated with injured survivors, and requests for assistance. FEH is managed and directed by Haitians, most notably, Gladys Thomas, an amazing woman (who was featured on The Visionaries, a PBS documentary with one episode that featured Christian Relief Services some years ago), people who know best the needs of the children of their country and how to work within Haiti. Its Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers dedicated to serving children through FEH. Fondation pour les Enfants d'Haiti is founded in the teachings of the Christian church.“Jesus is our guide and God is our Master”.
• Foundation for the Children of Haiti is a Haitian organization with a network of people already in place.
• The Foundation has been working in Port-au-Prince for over 25 years.
• The Foundation has very low overhead. More than 95% of general donations go to take care of the children.
• Money spent in Haiti on supplies and salaries goes into the local economy and helps more people.
• Every dollar received by the Foundation for the Children of Haiti for earthquake relief expenses will go to Haiti for that purpose.
