1,875,202 POUNDS of wholesome food items distributed including meats, vegetables, fruits and canned items in 2008.
20,000 PEOPLE were assisted with emergency assistance, home repair, school supplies, and enrichment camps in 2008.
7,290 WHOLE TURKEYS distributed in 2008.
OVER 6000 PEOPLE received relief distributions which included: blankets, hygiene items and new coats, as well as small gift items for many families that are unable to provide gifts for their children. New shoes and school supplies were also distributed in 2008.
International Food and Relief Democratic Republic of Congo, Honduras and Mexico
380,000 (170 TONS) of relief materials including: food, medical supplies, medicines, personal care items, school supplies, blankets, tools and new shoes. OVER 29,000 INDIVIDUALS were helped.
Provided Grants to Support Grassroots Initiatives Kenya, Burundi, Ethiopia, Somalia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Uganda
OVER 40,000 PEOPLE WERE SERVED through Bread and Water for Africa to support grassroots initiatives for vocational training, education, clean water, orphan care, food self-sufficiency, health initiatives and women’s program’s.
Lithuania Medical Outreach
We provided funding for re-agents to 10 hospitals, located in ten municipalities listed above, and over 19,000 tests provided for the year. This program assisted over 19,000 PEOPLE in 2008.
Affordable Housing Provided 10 TWO BEDROOM AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS at the Terry Lynn Apartments in Phoenix, Arizona for persons making less than the Area Medium Income.
Supportive Housing Christian Relief Services and Christian Relief Services of Virginia, an affiliate, own and operate 102 UNITS throughout Fairfax County, VA, serving homeless individuals and families with transitional housing and support services since 1993.
Of the 102 units above, Christian Relief Services’ affiliate, Americans Helping Americans, maintains and operates 12 OF THE UNITS for our Safe Places Residential Program providing direct case |
